Terms of use
Last updated September 26, 2026
These terms cover your use of Figure, a personal finance app at figurecash.com. By creating an account or using Figure, you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
A private beta
Figure is in an invitation-only private beta. Features may change, be added or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. You need to be at least 18 and invited to create an account. We may end the beta or your access to it, and we'll tell you before we delete anything you've stored.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details and devices secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- Two-factor sign-in (a passkey or an authenticator app) is required before you can connect a bank.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, and for the accuracy of what you enter or upload.
Bank connections
When you connect a bank, you authorize Figure to receive read-only information about your accounts (balances, transactions, holdings and loan details) through Plaid, under Plaid's end user privacy policy. Figure never sees your bank password and can't move money or make payments. You can disconnect a bank at any time in Accounts.
Connections are paused after 60 days away
To protect your accounts, if nobody in your household uses Figure for 60 days, Figure disconnects your bank connections and ends its access to them. Your accounts, history, categories and budgets stay in Figure. When you come back, you'll be asked to reconnect each bank; Figure then fills in the transactions from the time you were away, as far back as your bank provides them, without adding anything twice. Until you reconnect, balances and transactions from those banks won't update.
Not financial advice
Figure is an educational and organizing tool. Budgets, safe-to-spend figures, savings suggestions, growth projections and the retirement readiness check are estimates based on your data and the assumptions shown; actual results will differ. Nothing in Figure is investment, tax, legal or financial advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything, and Figure isn't a fiduciary. For decisions about your situation, consider a licensed professional.
Check what matters
Categories, recurring bills, balances and alerts are worked out automatically and can be wrong, late or missing, including when a bank or file provides incomplete data. Check important figures against your bank's own statements, and don't rely on Figure as your only reminder to pay a bill.
Pay bill shortcuts and other websites
Figure doesn't process payments. “Pay bill” opens, in a new tab, a page you saved, a Google search limited to the company's own website, or a Google search for the company's pay page. Those sites belong to other companies, and Figure isn't responsible for them. Check the address before you sign in or pay, and never enter payment details on a site you don't recognize. You can turn these shortcuts off in Settings.
Market prices
Stock, fund, crypto and metal prices come from third-party data services, may be delayed by 15 minutes or more, and are for information only.
Acceptable use
Use Figure only for your own or your household's finances. Don't try to access other people's data, get around security or limits, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which permanently deletes your data and disconnects your banks. See the privacy policy for how long backups last.
Disclaimers and limits
Figure is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, Figure and its owner aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on information in Figure, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid for Figure in the 12 months before it (during the free beta, nothing).
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use Figure afterward means you accept it.
